In 2001, Kathy released her first CD “New Horizons” consisting of 13 of her own compositions. The CD was recorded and mixed at Farmyard Studio, Somerset West. The album is a mix of ballads, gospel songs and more up tempo numbers.
Musicians on the album are Kathy Ashwell on vocals and acoustic guitar, Guy Feldman on additional acoustic and electric guitar, Jacques van Wyk on keyboard and vocal harmonies, Jonathan Aggett on vocal harmonies, Jeremy Schultz on drumming and Alex Power on bass guitar.
Kathy released her second CD “Chilanga” in 2008. The album consists of 11 of her own compositions. There is a mix of instrumentals, ballads and more up tempo songs as well as a very catchy blues number!
Kathy sings and plays guitar on all the tracks and other musicians include Guy Feldman on additional guitar, Anjulie Nock on cello, Jacques van Wyk on keyboards, Desley Meyer and Paul Martin on bass guitar, Jacques Louw on double bass, James Porter on drums and Inge Fanoudis and Martinique Latsky on harmony vocals. The album was recorded and mixed by James Porter at the Session Rooms, Somerset West.
The Chilanga CD sells for R100.00.
